A tragic accident in Bishop Friday left one local man struggling to survive and a Bishop woman facing  felony charges.

accidnetyaney.jpgAt just after 4:00 pm on Friday a man walking across Main Street Bishop at Yaney, was hit by vehicle. Bishop Police and the Symons Ambulance Crew were on scene with in minutes and worked quickly to get the severely injured man onto a back board and into the ambulance.

The male victim, 66 year old Maurice Davis of Bishop, was bleeding from his head as emergency crews worked to get the man to the hospital. Davis was later flown out to Reno, where Police report that he remains on life support.

Police say that the victim was in the crosswalk, when the vehicle driven by 48 year old Sean Anne Jones of Bishop, made a left turn on to Main Street from E. Yaney and hit Davis.

Two weeks ago, 62 year old William Downey suffered serious head and neck injuries after being hit in a crosswalk in front of Giggle Springs, also on Main Street Bishop.
In this tragic accident on Friday, Sean Jones the driver of the SUV, was arrested for alleged felony driving under the influence.
